Fav-spot #2 - Long Weekend at the Dachstein

The series "Fav(orite)-spot" was created after our customers often sent feedback and travel reports to us. So everyone can read where its most beautiful and maybe visit one or the other place.

We found an apartment directly in Schladming am Dachstein via sharemyprop, because friends of my best friend have their apartment there. So we could spend a great long weekend at the Dachstein and finally get to know the region. We have also never been to Styria, so we also got to know a new province of Austria.

The handover of the key was great, we met at ARTiSAN, a really fancy place in the middle of Schladming, which offers homemade organic pastries and super delicious pastries. We also really liked the apartment, with beautiful views of the mountains and a balcony so we could enjoy the winter sun.

During the days at the Dachstein we were, among other things, in the city museum in Schladming, a beautiful old wooden house with a lot of historical past. Of course, a ride on the mountain cable car could not be missed, we are not ski enthusiasts, but since the weather was gorgeous, we could enjoy the mountain peaks and watch the snowy mountains with the winter sports enthusiasts.

We also looked at the ice palace, insanely great ice sculptures were there, also very exciting were the explanations of how the glacier was actually formed. The ride on the Südwandbahn was a real highlight for us. Nothing for people who are afraid of heights, the panorama gondola consists of a lot of glass and little around it.

We will not forget this weekend so quickly, Dachstein we will come again!
