The series "Fav(orite)-spot" was created after our customers often sent feedback and travel reports to us. So everyone can read where its most beautiful and maybe visit one or the other place.
We wanted to make a 3 girls trip and it was clear that we wanted to fly to a warmer city than Hamburg in February. So it turned out that we looked around in the friend network at ShareMyProp and indeed we found a roof terrace apartment of a friend that was free for the weekend.
So the choice fell on Lisbon, just under 4 hours by plane from Hamburg. The weather gods also co-operated, so we had a wonderful weekend.
A little outside the city center, we stayed at a great roof terrace apartment, so we could enjoy the view. It was still a little cold to sit outside, but the view and a thick jacket didn't stop us from spending some time there.
On day 1, we enjoyed Lisbon with the highlights. Among other things, we went to the famous suspension bridge "Ponte 25 de Abril", strolled around the neighborhood and took the cable car in the afternoon to visit the "Torre de Belém". Of course we made some stops at the local cafes, we had to take advantage of the fact that there were three of us and no family, husband or children were with us.
For the evening we saved a ride with the "Electrico #28", this tram drives comfortably through the city and you can visit everything from the tram itself. This trip was also necessary, because we were quite foot lame after the day full of beautiful impressions.
At the bottom of the "Elevador de Santa Justa", which connects the Baixa district with the Chiado district in the upper city, we had a leisurely dinner.
The next day we started early again, because we took the train to the suburb of Sintra. Thanks to a tip from the friend of mine who has lived in Lisbon for a few years, we explored this magical place. The highlight is the "Palácio Nacional da Pena", this was built in 1840 by order of the king's husband Ferdinand II on the ruins of a monastery. Up to the palace we went by tuk-tuk, if you negotiate well, the ride costs only 5 euros. As an alternative, you can also wait for the tourist bus 434, which leaves every 15min.
Down from the mountain we walked leisurely into the old town, which is also worth a short visit. There are still plenty of palaces and castles to visit, but we had other priorities.
And we had to go back to Lisbon at some point, because our flight left in the evening already back to Hamburg.
We really enjoyed this weekend in Lisbon and were really happy about the girlfriend who rented this beautiful roof terrace apartment. It couldn't have been easier and local tips are always included.
We are already looking forward to the girls trip for next year.
