The series "Fav(orite)-spot" was created after our customers often sent feedback and travel reports to us. So everyone can read where its most beautiful and maybe visit one or the other place.

As a family manager, I was looking for a nice vacation home for our family of four over the Easter vacations and I searched on ShareMyProp, among other places. A few friends of mine are registered there and I thought I'd try my luck. Pretty quickly I found a buddy of mine, whose friend rented a 4 room apartment in Koblenz. That fit perfectly, the apartment was also still free at Easter, and against a little flowers watering besides I had nothing to object.

So we drove the 3 hours to Koblenz on Easter-Thursday and were able to move into our apartment near the university in a quiet side street. The kids were thrilled right away because the apartment was on the ground floor and there was also a nice garden with a swing and sandbox.

In the late afternoon, we took a tour of downtown Koblenz. We really enjoyed the long pedestrian passage, you must definitely go to the 4 towers! These four towers are arranged in a square with four historic buildings in the old town. You can find them directly at the intersection of the streets Am Plan - Löhrstraße - Altengraben - Marktstraße. The name four towers is derived from a richly decorated oriel attached to each house.

The kids really liked the eye roller, which can be seen today on the ridge of the Mittelrhein Museum. The story behind it is rather creepy, but the kids didn't mind. The legend goes that the robber Johann Lutter von Kobern rolled his eyes and stuck out his tongue when he was executed. Thus, a monument was set up to him, so that everyone should always remember the bad deeds of the robber.

We also walked to the Schängelbrunnen, it is one of the landmarks of Koblenz. According to Wikipedia, "with this fountain one has set a monument to the Koblenz Schängel (girls & boys born in Koblenz) and their pranks, as well as to the joy of life of the citizens of Koblenz." Oh, and beware - you might get wet...why? Test it yourself!

On Good Friday, we set out to give the kids a medieval experience. We visited Ehrenbreitstein Fortress and of course we took the cable car to get up to the castle. This was a great experience, when do kids ever get to ride a cable car!!! We already saw the “German Corner” (Deutsches Eck) on our gondola ride, which we walked to again on Saturday. The Deutsche Eck is an artificially raised headland at the mouth of the Moselle into the Rhine. The children and we liked it very much, for them it was the first time they experienced something like this and we gave them the background with a city guide for children.

On Easter Sunday, we searched for Easter eggs in the garden with the kids in beautiful sunshine and spent the day with a nice boat trip on the Rhine. A real Easter experience, and the sun made it easy for us to enjoy the trip on deck.

On Monday we were already on our way home, we keep this sunny long Easter weekend in good memory. And let's see what beautiful apartment and domicile we will find next year at ShareMyProp.
